- 1/2 teaspoon dark soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons peanut oil
- 4 dried Chinese chili peppers
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Mix the sauce ingredients (vegetable broth, soy sauces, sugar, black pepper, sesame oil) in a bowl.
- Combine cornstarch and water in another bowl to create the slurry.
- Steam broccoli for 1 minute in boiling water; set aside.
- Sear mushrooms in peanut oil over high heat until browned.
- Add garlic, ginger, and chili peppers; stir until fragrant.
- Return broccoli to the skillet, add sauce mixture, and cook briefly before stirring in the slurry until thickened.
