  • 1 lb fresh chow mein noodles
  • 2 cups thinly sliced cabbage
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 1 small sliced onion
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp regular soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetarian stir fry sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken stock (or cold water)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauces, vegetarian stir fry sauce, sesame oil, chicken stock, minced garlic, and cornstarch to create the sauce.
  2. Bring water to boil in a large pan. Blanch chow mein noodles for 20-30 seconds until loosened; strain and set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in the same pan over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the onions, cabbage, and celery for about one minute until softened.
  4. Push veggies aside; add remaining oil and then the noodles along with the prepared sauce.
  5. Toss everything together until well coated in sauce. Remove from heat and serve hot.
