  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 ¼ cup warm water
  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 8 tablespoons melted butter for filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 ⅓ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar for glaze
  • 1/3½ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract for glaze
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water and milk in a mixing bowl; add yeast and let sit until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Mix dry ingredients with the yeast mixture until smooth; then add melted butter and eggs.
  4. Cover dough and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 60 minutes).
