Made from soft King’s Hawaiian Rolls, this easy-to-follow recipe combines the warm notes of vanilla and cinnamon with rich custard for an irresistible dish. Perfect for brunch gatherings or cozy family breakfasts, every bite is like a cloud of sweetness that melts in your mouth. Top it off with fresh fruits or a drizzle of maple syrup for an added touch of indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12-pack) King’s Hawaiian Rolls
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup half and half or whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
  • Powdered sugar, fresh fruit, maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt until well combined.
  2. Poke holes in each roll using a toothpick or skewer. Dip each roll in the custard mixture for about 30 seconds on each side to soak.
  3. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Cook the soaked rolls for 30–60 seconds per side until golden brown.
  4. Serve warm with powdered sugar, fresh fruit, or maple syrup.
