- 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/3 cup canola or vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup Dutch process cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the halved cherries over the parchment and sprinkle with sugar. Roast for 10 minutes and allow to cool.
- Lower the oven temperature to 325°F and prepare an 8×8 baking pan by spraying it with non-stick spray and lining it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt; set aside.
- Using a mixer, beat together sugar, eggs, and egg yolk at high speed for 5 minutes. Add in the melted butter and oil while mixing on low until combined.
