Description

  • 1 lb beef strips (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 large onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Add beef strips and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté sliced onions until soft and caramelized; season with salt and pepper, then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet over high heat, add remaining oil and stir-fry the marinated beef for about 2-3 minutes until browned.
  4. In a small bowl, combine additional soy sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch; pour this mixture over the beef and simmer until thickened.
  5. Stir the sautéed onions back into the pan and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
